Obien Mayo is a Consultant Audiologist by profession, but his passion for literature has led him to write. He started his writing venture from a Karachi based English Magazine 'Smash’. His style of communication is captivating and he knows the art of speaking in short words. Due to his proficiency in both Urdu and English, he is experimenting in both languages. His debut book ‘Death on Birth’ has recently been published by Daastan. In this book, he talks about the problems that women often face in society. Due to his deep attachment to the world of literature, he is also associated with India's literary platforms ‘Tacenda’; ‘Petrichor’; ‘Siyahi’; and has been at the forefront of their literary competitions. He is always striving for literary services on this journey. With regard to Obien’s writing abilities, he has won many competitions in story writing along with poetry on national and international levels. Recently, his story ‘I died and no one even noticed’ made its place among the top 10 Pakistani stories under the ‘We Too’ campaign run by Daastan Publishers. Besides tragedy, Obien also wrote for kids through the storytelling platform ‘Suno Kahani Meri Zubani’.
